Wind farms are not an alternative form of free energy. They are an expensive ADDITIONAL form of energy. For every potential kilowatt of wind generated energy, an equivalent generating capacity, from conventional; nuclear, coal, gas, hydro… power station sits idle, as a back-up for when the wind does not blow.
Coals low cost energy is the only thing this country can afford honestly. Not to mention the thousands of jobs coal mining provides. I would suggest you come up with a cleaner energy source that can be produced cleaner and as cost effective. when you figure this out then you would also need to create as many jobs as youve destroyed.
Below you will find a nuclear energy pros and cons list, which covers the most important aspects of typical nuclear power plants. There are 104 commercial nuclear power plants in the United States producing a whopping 806.2 TWh of electricity, in other words about 20 % of the entire electricity generation (2008).
There are plenty of people who support our use of nuclear power, and at least as many who oppose it. Supporters say it's a less environmentally destructive way of producing electrical energy because, overall, it releases fewer greenhouse emissions (less carbon dioxide gas) than burning fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gas.
Nuclear power is once again considered a prominent alternative, despite the disregard it was met with in the 1970s. This is because it's now being touted as a more environmentally beneficial solution since it emits far fewer greenhouse gases during electricity generation than coal or other traditional power plants.
